BTP’s management team is headed by Robert Veltman and Stephen Araps, supported by a set of independent contractors fulfilling various roles and services as needed.

 

Robert Veltman is the Founder and President of The BTP Group. Mr. Veltman’s career experience includes over 20 years of private and government work assignments in the cellular, satellite, and fixed wireless broadband telecommunications industry. His expertise covers asset management, financing, business development, market and competitive analysis, and network operations. Mr. Veltman has established numerous international joint ventures to include the first “Voice over IP” Internet service provider joint venture in St. Petersburg, Russia. He has held top management positions with Motorola, MCI, Andrew Corporation, and Federal Systems Group. The BTP Group is a Member of the Rural Broadband Coalition where Mr. Veltman serves as a Director and as RBC Marketing Consultant. He also serves as Advisor to the Board with several telecommunications companies. Mr. Veltman attended the School of Business and Public Management at George Washington University.

 

Stephen Araps is the Vice-President for The BTP Group. Prior to joining The BTP Group, Mr. Araps was with Broadband Office / Zephion Networks, negotiating and contracting strategic partnerships, and also planning and managing the company's metropolitan fiber networks. Mr. Araps started his professional career with Bell Atlantic/Verizon, and over 16 years he managed a variety of functions including engineering, product management, product development, competitive analysis, business analysis, business modeling, and corporate planning. In 1995, he was named to manage Bell Atlantic's operational development of wholesale telecom services associated with the Telecom Act of 1996. Mr. Araps holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Masters degree in Business Administration from George Mason University.
